This adapter converts an SMA-P (male) to an RP-SMA-P (male) connector. It's used on boards that have an SMA connector but need to connect to an RP-SMA (reverse polarity SMA) antenna. Most external 2.4GHz antennas have RP-SMA cables and would require this adapter in order to connect to a board with an SMA connector.
